MPSC examination are held in three parts:
a) Prelim exam
b) Main exam
c) Interview

Prelim exam: Preliminary exams are a test that judges your ability for this competitive exam. The Prelim exam is 200 marks and does not add any value to your final exam’s score. It is an objective based test and questions are given in English and Marathi languages. All who clear the prelim exam will get a call letter for the main exam.
Main exam: Main exams are generally held after 3 to 4 months of the prelim exams’ results declaration. It used to be 800 marks but now according to the new syllabus the main exam is 1600 marks. There are a total of six papers each for 200 marks. All the candidates who pass in the main exam are moved to the next round.

Once a candidate clears all these three rounds the merit list is declared and various vacant posts filled with suitable candidates who are then provided training for jobs.
